Trusted Device
A trusted device provides greater system security and user convenience. Regular users should work exclusively from trusted devices.
- User Options
- Secure 2-factor login
- Why a 2-factor login is not mandatory
- Abort trusted device option
- Automatic cancellation of trusted devices
Device registration is an important part of 2-factor logging.
User Options
The user registers devices that he/she has marked as trusted to the system.
Reasons for a trusted device
Marking a device as trusted brings benefits to the user:
- Only trusted devices store downloaded user data. This makes them faster to work on, and the system remembers the user's settings (e.g. columns in reports, desktop settings, etc.)
- Security features and tools can be used exclusively on a trusted device. For example, data vaults for end-to-end encryption of classified data are only accessible from trusted devices.
- By default, a trusted device does not log off, making it more convenient to work. (On a device that is not trusted, the system will disconnect you after a few minutes.)
Secure 2-factor login
The administrator can set whether a 2-factor login is mandatory for the user.
Why a 2-factor login is not mandatory
Why a 2-factor login is not mandatory
It should be set by default, the option without a mandatory 2-factor login is for:
- Test and demonstration purposes
- Trainees
- Access for teams that do not have any important data on the system.
Who decides on the 2-factor login obligation
The system administrator in AyMINE makes the setting whether a 2-factor is mandatory. There is no option for the user or user administrator to change the setting.
Abort trusted device option
You can make the device untrustworthy yourself or ask the administrator (e.g. if someone steals your device).
The user account administrator has an overview of what devices users have among trusted devices and can disable some or all of the user's secure devices.
The administrator has the ability to respond to information that a user's account may have been compromised or that a device has been stolen.
Automatic cancellation of trusted devices
Device trustworthiness is automatically revoked when:
- User has not used the device for more than 1 month
- User's account has been revoked
- User's account has been blocked for more than 1 month
